The Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee in conjunction with East River Electric and Ag United is excited to announce that the Livestock Seminar originally scheduled for March of 2020 has been rescheduled! The event will now be held at the Davison County Fairgrounds in Mitchell on Tuesday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. With sucess, this will become an annual event, alternating the area of focus each year.
The goal of this seminar is to provide education and encouragement for those interested in returning to the family farm or those just starting out. This will be an informational seminar on what you need to know if you are considering building a confinement facility or feedlot. Other topics being covered at this seminar are county permitting process, nutrient management plans, feeding opportunities, design and constructions of barns and the state DENR permitting process.
